The Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 2018

Third Bridge has again been recognised as one of Britain’s 100 fastest growing companies by The Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100. The inclusion marks the third consecutive year Third Bridge has been honoured with the distinction.

The list recognises and celebrates Britain’s private companies with the fastest-growing sales over their latest three financial years. It is compiled by Fast Track and published in The Sunday Times each December.

“We are proud to be named alongside other tremendous companies as one of Britain’s fastest growing private businesses,” said Emmanuel Tahar, co-founder and chief executive officer at Third Bridge. “Growth is something we never take for granted, and it’s earned client by client, project by project, deal by deal. This is a tribute to our clients and our 800-plus employees for what we’re building together.”

Third Bridge strengthens senior management

We are pleased to announce that Corey Lawson has joined as Chief Compliance Officer and Xavier Demierre has joined as Global Head of Credit & Private Equity.

Xavier, a former FinTech Director at Alpima, a B2B investment platform, brings nearly 20 years of experience in the financial sector, where he was involved in setting up successful brokerage and investment firms Sonas Partners and Avenue Capital Europe. In his role as Global Head of Credit & Private Equity, he will lead all content creation for the Forum product and play a crucial role in growing the global team and driving revenue targets.

Corey joins Third Bridge after almost 10 years with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), where he started in the Division of Enforcement in 2008 and later joined the Asset Management Unit in 2014. He began his legal career defending SEC enforcement actions and securities class actions at Vinson & Elkins. As Chief Compliance Officer, he will be responsible for compliance-related policies and procedures across all business units globally, helping to maintain Third Bridge’s commitment to the highest standards of compliance as the company undergoes its next phase of growth.

Third Bridge opens new office in Los Angeles

We are delighted to announce the expansion of our global footprint with a new office opening in Santa Monica, which became operational today. Third Bridge first established a presence in the US in 2010 with the launch of our North American headquarters in New York City.

The opening of the Santa Monica location came as a result of strong demand from local investors for Third Bridge's services. By establishing a base in LA, our team is able to both better serve our existing west coast clients and engage new investors.

“Our decision to expand our operations to California supports our growth strategy. We have already built relationships with clients on the west coast, and we see a huge opportunity to expand our coverage and bring Third Bridge’s valuable service to a broader audience,” said Paul Carr, Third Bridge’s President.

With a strong presence already in Europe, Asia-Pacific and the East Coast of America, this expansion now positions Third Bridge as the top choice for North American clients looking to make informed investment decisions.

Spearheading the new office is an experienced team of Third Bridge veterans, a team which is expected to grow quickly before the end of the year.

Third Bridge Report Shows Significant Inconsistencies in the Pricing of Investor Research
We recently surveyed and interviewed 30 respondents from buy-side asset management firms, to gather information on how investment banks and boutique sell-side firms are pricing their research.

The survey highlights the inherent problems with how investor research is priced, a topic that is being hotly discussed ahead of the introduction of the MiFID II rules, which are due to come into effect in January 2018.

Testimonies direct from asset managers reflect the confusion around the true cost of research in the current system, which is fuelled by inconsistencies in the way that research is priced. The report’s findings indicate that larger funds are paying upwards of $2m per annum for bundled coverage, while smaller funds are being quoted less than $50k for the same product, and research provided by US investment banks has a range of pricing that often reaches unrealistic levels.
