There is an actual Third Bridge; a wooden bridge in the middle of Botswana’s Okavango Delta, spanning a reed filled pool on the Sekiri river. Literally, it’s the third wooden bridge travelers cross upon entering the reserve. Symbolically, it’s recognized in local culture as the last bridge to cross before arriving in unexplored territory.
