Anmol Kapur

On leadership, growth, and a people-first culture

“The fact that I can mentor people to eventually create a bigger impact is something I’m super proud of.”

Some careers follow a straight line, but for Anmol Kapur, his journey at Third Bridge has been about finding his unique path and helping others find theirs. Now an AVP in the Mumbai consulting team, his story is one of rapid growth, mentorship, and a people-first culture.

Starting out at Third Bridge

When Anmol first joined Third Bridge six years ago, he saw it as a temporary role. A friend’s referral brought him in as an Operations Coordinator, a support role that he didn’t expect to last long. “I joined at that point thinking ‘This is a very temporary thing, right?” he admits, as he had aspirations to pursue an MBA.

However, the variety of the work and the opportunity for constant growth quickly changed his mind. “Knowing that Third Bridge caters to clients across industries made me realize that I had an opportunity to learn a lot across different sectors and client types,” he says.

His career progressed quickly from Associate to Project Manager, and then to Senior Project Manager and Manager within three and a half years. The rapid promotion and the responsibilities he was given made him re-evaluate his plans. “What I’ll get out of an MBA, or even thinking about the end goal of having an MBA, that’s what I’m already doing,” he realized with pride.

All rising together

More than just words, Third Bridge’s culture commitment of “All Rising Together,” is a central theme of Anmol’s career. He’s seen it in action everywhere, from his mentors to the way his team operates. “Everybody is looking out for one another to ensure that there is a success story for everybody,” he explains. “It’s not an individualistic mindset. Yes, I have my targets or I have this work to do. But we also have a shared responsibility to make sure the person sitting next to us is growing and has success as well.”

This ethos is one he embodies as a manager. Anmol knew from early in his career that he eventually wanted to manage people, and his career highlights now include times he has helped others succeed. One team member in particular comes to mind, “I realized that he had talent and a lot of potential,” he reflects, “I worked with him very closely and he’s probably the strongest performer in India right now.” Anmol’s belief in ‘all rising together’ helped turn a team member’s performance around “Our clients swear by him. He gets shout-outs in their internal emails. At one point, he was the top performer on the leaderboard globally.” he beams with pride at the transformation, knowing this success is truly a collective one.

For Anmol, getting the best from people is about understanding their unique motivations. He believes that while looking at performance numbers is of course important, the key is knowing what makes each individual tick. “Some are motivated by seeing constant recognition, some by constant growth, and some are motivated by validation from their superiors or their clients,” he says. Identifying these factors and acting on them helps Anmol keep his team’s motivation high so everyone can deliver their best work.

He also credits Third Bridge’s commitment to upskilling employees as an example of ‘all rising together’ in action. Not only has he leveraged his Personal Development Allowance (an annual budget that employees can use on training) to develop his communication and leadership skills, he also cites in-person training events as being incredibly impactful. “We did a two-day sales training recently. I thought I was quite good at sales till I spoke to him!” he jokes. “He was excellent, and he gave us so many pointers on how we can change things, how we can approach people, how our body language should change. It sharpened me as a person.”

Beyond the day-to-day and the shared goal to hit targets lies something deeper, a connected community of motivated people which is regularly strengthened by Third Bridge rituals like away days. He fondly recalls a company offsite where senior leaders and Associates alike went travelling together and had the opportunity to get to know each other, enjoy time outside of work, and build relationships. “The fact that everybody could speak to everybody without any barriers, or without worrying ‘this guy is five levels above me!’... that was a really iconic part of my career here,” he remembers.

Defining success and building a legacy

Anmol’s definition of success has evolved throughout his career. While his early days were marked by personal achievements and promotions, his current role as a manager has shifted his focus to the impact he can have on others. “Now that I’m a manager, I think success is being able to create an impact not just at my level, but at a level below me also, and for the entire organization,” he says. For him, the ultimate victory is seeing the people he mentors succeed and create their own impact. “I want to be remembered as someone who taught someone a lot or had a really positive impact on their career at Third Bridge.” Having retained a team of 12, which continues to grow, he’s firmly on track to build his legacy.

This people-first approach is reflected in his team’s impressive results. Since taking on the role of Manager, Anmol has guided his team to nearly double commercial growth, elevating them from the third-biggest vendor in India to the top spot. However, for Anmol, this number is more than a statistic. “So much work has gone into it, it would be reductive to boil it down to one single number,” he notes, highlighting the collective effort that goes into building a successful team and a strong reputation with clients. He sees this achievement not just as a commercial win, but as a testament to the growth and development of every individual on his team.

When asked about his next steps, Anmol is clear that he hasn’t hit his ceiling. His aspirations reach beyond his current role, and he is eager to take on more. “We have some very aggressive targets,” he says. “I’ve witnessed constant professional development so far, and if the business keeps growing at the pace that we have been, I’m confident I’ll grow too.” For Anmol, the journey of defining success is ongoing, and he’s ready for the next challenge.

Life outside of Third Bridge

When he’s not busy leading his team, Anmol loves spending time with his friends and family, many of whom he’s had for over ten years. He’s also a big football fan and a supporter of Manchester United. “It’s not the easiest time right now being a Manchester United fan, but it’s okay,” he jokes.

Advice for future joiners

Anmol's advice to new joiners is simple: take advantage of the open-door policy and the supportive people. “Make the most of it by interacting with everybody because…nobody has a closed door here,” he says. He emphasizes that Third Bridge is not just a place to learn the basics, but a place to grow and develop as a person, sharpening communication and soft skills. “Reach out to whoever you want to for help. I’d find it very hard to believe if you came back and said nobody helped you out.”

Anmol’s story is a powerful reminder that a career at Third Bridge is more than just a job; it's a journey of personal and professional growth. He's a true embodiment of the "All Rising Together" commitment, not just by achieving his own goals but by lifting others with him. His path from a temporary role to a key leadership position shows that with a people-first mindset and a supportive culture, the possibilities are endless.
