Jamie Prangnell

On innovation and endurance

“The work I do here is right on the zeitgeist of what’s happening in the tech industry. I love being at the bleeding edge.”

As a Senior Product Manager at Third Bridge, Jamie Prangnell is part of the team shaping how clients access and use data. Since joining the company just over a year ago, he has played a key role in expanding the Large Data Solutions (LDS) domain, helping scale it from a promising idea into a growing, multimillion-dollar offering.

“When I joined, the domain was still quite new,” Jamie explains. “It had a proof of concept and product-market fit, but we were still building the infrastructure to scale. Since then, we’ve grown the revenue it generates 5x with more clients and new use cases emerging all the time.”

Driving innovation through data

Jamie’s work sits at the intersection of data, technology, and client value. His team focuses on integrating Third Bridge’s content into client systems and third-party platforms – a challenge that has become increasingly exciting as AI transforms the industry.

Jamie highlights, “LDS is at the cutting edge of technological advancements. With the rapid developments in AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), our clients are increasingly seeking to engage with our data using these innovative platforms and capabilities."

Jamie finds Agentic AI to be one of the industry's most exciting advancements. This technology goes beyond simply responding to natural language prompts, instead taking autonomous action through automated workflows.

“Agentic AI can automate whole workflows,” he says. “It can schedule meetings, transcribe audio, convert it into searchable data, and organize information into schemas. It’s going to transform the way people work.”

Staying at the center of an industry in motion is what Jamie enjoys most about his job. He thrives on the challenge of constant learning and adaptation.

“The work I do here is right on the zeitgeist of what’s happening in the tech industry,” he says. “No one’s done this before. It’s all new and novel, so it’s about learning from the team around you, what clients are saying, and what the industry is doing. I love being at the bleeding edge. It keeps the job fresh and interesting.”

Mentorship and mindset

Although Jamie doesn’t manage people directly, mentoring others is central to how he works. Drawing on his background as a teacher and Agile consultant, he finds satisfaction in helping colleagues reach their potential.

“I think everyone’s got talent if they’re directed the right way,” he says. “It’s about understanding their goals and helping them get there. I’ve always enjoyed seeing people grow and gain confidence.”

That collaborative spirit extends to how he defines success in his own role. For Jamie, it isn’t just about numbers on a spreadsheet, it’s about the impact the work has on our clients and the wider business.

“Revenue is one metric, of course, but so is the value our clients get from our data and the satisfaction of the people I work with. That’s what success really looks like.”

Culture and work life balance

Jamie describes Third Bridge as having evolved from a startup into a supportive, scaling organization that values its people as much as its progress. He’s seen firsthand how the culture encourages both professional growth and work life balance. As a working parent, that support makes a real difference.

“There’s a real understanding here that people have commitments outside of work,” Jamie explains. “If you need to pick up your kids or adjust your day, that’s fine, you just manage your diary. It’s a very supportive environment.”

Outside of work, Jamie is no stranger to endurance – literally. He recently completed the Pegasus Slam, a series of six ultramarathons across six months totaling 224 miles, 8,500 metres of elevation, raising money for the hospice that cared for his mother.

“It’s tough, I won’t lie,” he admits. “But it’s rewarding too. Running has always been a way for me to switch off and reset. I usually save the long runs for weekends, but sometimes I’ll squeeze a short one at lunch.”

When he’s not training, Jamie plays drums, hikes in the Brecon Beacons, and goes to live gigs around Bristol.

“If you want to be able to work hard in a professional context, you have to make sure you have enough hobbies and interests outside of work so you can relax and recharge,” he says. “That’s something I talk to colleagues about, especially those who’ve just become parents.”

Advice for new joiners

For those considering joining Third Bridge, Jamie’s advice is simple:

“Think carefully about what area of the business you want to be part of and what you want to achieve. It’s a really exciting time to join. Third Bridge sits at the center of global economic insights, and the exposure you get here can be incredible for your career.”

Whether he’s developing AI-driven data solutions, mentoring others, or crossing an ultramarathon finish line, Jamie’s drive and focus are unwavering. His story shows that at Third Bridge, ambition, purpose, and balance can all coexist – and thrive.
