If you’ve been invited to join the Third Bridge expert network, you might be wondering what a "1:1 expert call" actually entails. It’s a core part of our service offering, designed to be a streamlined and rewarding way to share your knowledge. But what does the experience look like from the expert perspective?

Think of it less as a formal interview and more as a professional conversation. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect before, during, and after a typical expert call.

The lead-up: from invitation to scheduling

The process begins when our team identifies a project that they believe aligns with your professional background and expertise. Our clients, who are typically leading investors and business professionals, are looking for nuanced, real insights from real people that data alone can't provide. Your experience is precisely what they need.

Once a match is made, you'll be asked a short set of questions to help us dive deeper into your experience. This screening process is integral to ensuring you’re matched with suitable projects and will find the conversation valuable.

Having successfully passed the pre-screen, if the client believes you’re also a good fit, you'll receive a project invitation with details about the topic. If you're interested and available, you simply accept and schedule a one-hour phone call at a time that works for you. Our team handles all the logistics, so you can focus on the content of the conversation.

During the call: sharing your expertise

Your expertise can come in many forms with clients seeking perspectives ranging from your experience as a customer of a software you implemented, through to understanding the competitive landscape, or your insights as a value-added reseller.

The call itself is then typically a one-hour discussion with the client during which you’ll be asked questions about a specific industry, company, or market trend, all based on your professional experience.

These questions may be highly specific, or open-ended giving you a chance to guide the conversation, in either case, the key to a successful call is to speak from your firsthand knowledge. You are the expert in the room, and the client is there to learn from you. There's no need to over-prepare with extensive research; your unique perspective and real-world experience are the most valuable assets you bring to the table. The conversation is guided by a spirit of curiosity and mutual respect, with a focus on deep, actionable insights.

Post call: deriving value beyond compensation

While you are of course compensated for your time and expertise, the benefits of an expert call extend far beyond the financial reward. You are engaging in intellectually stimulating discussions with top professionals, helping them make critical business decisions. It’s a chance to see how your knowledge fits into a broader context, learn how investment firms are looking at the market you operate in, network with investment professionals,  and to make a tangible impact by influencing investment decisions.

In short, a Third Bridge expert call is a simple, effective, and secure way to leverage your professional background, share your insights, and be recognized for the value of your expertise.
